A thoughtfully designed addition set into the Tuki Tuki Valley, opening out to views of Te Mata Peak. Every part of the layout is built around the evening light and the way the family wanted to live in this space.
Working with designer Don Pitt, we built an addition that makes the most of one of the best outlooks in the region. The layout was shaped around evening gatherings, with generous outdoor entertaining space positioned to catch the sun setting over Te Mata Peak.
Inside, the kitchen and living areas open directly to the covered outdoor room, giving the family a natural flow between cooking, hosting, and relaxing. Timber, natural stone, and clean detailing tie the addition into the existing home while giving it a distinct sense of place.
