NATURAL MINIMALISM

“Wanting a simple design and texture without detracting from the strong lines of the architecture, the owners of this minimalist kitchen decided to use floor-to-ceiling veneer board combined with beautiful granite benchtops. The kitchen’s minimalist palette consists of Australian blackbutt veneer, New Zealand blackbutt pilularis solid timber handle details, and Absolute Black granite with a honed finish. These rich natural materials are juxtaposed with the existing concrete walls and floors that flow to the outdoors. The matte finishes throughout blend with the matte in situ poured concrete walls, providing warmth and creating a welcoming kitchen space for the family. The island benchtop is supported by a large stainless-steel frame which helps form the handle details along with he back stainless-steel benchtop. All appliances are integrated and the feature is the Falcon freestanding cooker. The kitchen is positioned between the dining room, family and formal living areas and has been designed to form the hallway through to the family room by using full-height panels of eneer board. The triangular-shaped space formed by the entranceway and formal living areas has been utilised as another pantry, as well as an area for making hot drinks and serving as an electronic hub for the home.”

“We love the timber handle detail, especially on the fridge and pantry doors.”
